Indian Wedding

This is my first time I attended an Indian Wedding. My friend Sree, gets married. The venue is held at Batu Caves (where else in KL). I thought I had to climb the stairs up to the caves but luckily the temple is on the ground floor.

The wedding ceremony goes like this. Music played were traditional Indian music. Consist of a "indian drum" and a "indian trumpet". Dunno what it is called. There is a fat indian monk chanting prayer to the groom at the stage. Later, it is the bride turns. They will gives thanks to each other and their parents. There is also some other stuff going around like the coconut in a plate where they "touch" it. Later the audience "touch" it and pick a flower and throw it to the newly wed. Seriously, I dunno what does it symbolise. The whole thing takes place in an air con room. If not, I would not be sitting there for 45min to watch it.

The whole thing goes on till 8.45pm which makes me very hungry. The dinner is buffet style and everyone rush to grab the food. The queue is so bloody long. I only able to get my food at 9.20pm and by then, the nasi briyani is almost finished. What the heck, I took some chapati as substitute.

Later, go back to the temple hall and congrats the newly wed on the stage and also give away the wedding gift. I packed RM50. Standard in KL. Luckily the food is ok since they got chicken, mutton. If not, I think I will take away RM20 if it is just all vegetarian.

Take a bus back home and reach about 10pm. Overall, I find it a good day. I had attended Chinese, Malay and Indian Wedding. So I am considered a Malaysia kid where my country is supposed to be multi racial.
