Melaka 2

After breakfast in hotel, went to A Farmosa. The famous ruined fortess by the Portugese. This fortess is saved by Raffles intervention cause the British is burning it down to prevent the Dutch to use it against them. I learn from the local that there is a tunnel in there but it is shut off since there is some mysterious force in there. Not sure if it is true. Noon went to eat Chicken rice ball again..hehehe..damn good. This one is provided by the society. So free eat.

Later went to Baba and Nyonya museum. The society hire models to recreate the wedding ceremony. Very rare to witness such occasion. Took lots of picture. It is also very hot day and sweating like mad.

Melaka 1

Wakes up damn early today at 5.30am. Gotta have a bus to catch at 7am. Sleep throughout the journey. Reach Malacca at 9am. Last visited this historic city in 1989. Damn long time ago. Took a bus to the Seri Costa hotel located at Mahkota Plaza. 50cents for non air con bus. Did not take a taxi since I read from the net that those drivers are charging RM15..Crazy.

Reach hotel at 9.30 am and wait for my dad to arrive from Ipoh. After check in, went to St Paul Church at the top of the hill and took pictures. Go downhill and visit the Studhuys. You know, the red colour building that was built by the Dutch. The history museum is located there and went in FOC since we are with the Society Photographer of Malaysia. It is interesting to look at the antiques inside the musuem. The statue of Admiral Cheng Ho is also located in there. Noon already. Went to eat chicken rice ball.

Borders opened in KL

The bookstore opened at Times SQ 2 days ago. I am pretty excited to see if they follow the concept of not wrapping the books and provide couch for readers. Yes! they do. I dunno if they can survive on having these concept in Malaysia. As far as I know, Malaysian had no respect for books. Already 2 days and I can see some books in 'ham choy' condition.

Anyway, I spent the whole day there reading 5 vol of Naruto. Rm31 each book. Not going to buy. Must read free :)

This is taken early in the morning from the window of my house. Clear sky. Too bad the 2 condo blocked one of the towers otherwise it would be perfect picture.

Skype

Download this VOIP software using peer to peer method. Tested with Eugene who is in Spore and surprisingly the voice quality is quite good. There are no much delay and most important is that it is free. Recommended. Of course this is only good if you have broadband which I am using to test. Not sure if it works well with dialup. Long time ago, I used Net2phone over dial up and the quality is so bad.

Hot walk and chant

Early this morning, it rains very heavily. I was awake by the heavy downpour. I think it is 7am. Heck, I continue to sleep since no need to wake up for work :) Besides, it is also very cool. This cannot be said in the afternoon. It is bloody hot and sunny. Sweat like hell in the open. Was in downtown to collect cheque and walk to Public bank in Jalan Ampang from Concorde Hotel. It is so bloody 15 min hot walk.

At night, went to James's house for his mother wake who passed away yesterday. Since my house is less than 15 min walk to his house, I had to go. Can't give excuse since so near. If not, I would say no transport. Typical excuse for Malaysian.

Pretty noisy as there are a lot of chanting of religious scriptures by some of the people there. Of course, I was not part of it. I sit there, eat groundnuts and 'pau'. After filling my stomach and 2 hours there, I go home and write this blog since Mr PeiJir said it is not updated.

Fix PC

Come back to KL today after a week in Ipoh. Took a 10.30am bus and reach KL at 2pm. Very sunny day. Went straight to Amcorp Mall to fix Hoi Foo Heng PC. Dun really know what the hell is wrong with the PC and finally, it hangs. When reboot, the Gravograph program that they used is not working. Good!! Sent to factory for repair. Save my time and effort to troubleshoot.

Night time spent time checking my email and replies. 1 week no check mail and got about 20 email. Yeah some are junks but I still read those sent from friends. Also do scanning of my Income tax form. Yeah, you need a copy of it and keep all supporting documents such as EA form, Insurance Bill for 7 years for audit. This year I need not pay tax. This is what you can expect when I am not working for almost a year now!

All Souls Day

Went back to Ipoh for Ching Ming. That is the time of the year where you give offering to the dead. Drove to Temoh with dad and reach there about 8am. Very sunny day. Finish burning offering and prayer by 8.45am. Next, went to Kampar pasar to eat breakfast.

Tried porridge which is pretty good. When my uncle who joined us later orders at 9.30am, it is sold out. Wow! good business. Order Char Kway Teow and Yau Char Kwai and it is a disappointment. I believe they fried the mee with few order at one go and so the taste is compromise. The Yau char kwai is pretty bad since it is not crispy. Lose standard. I think Ipoh food is much better.

Catch football at night and funny incident happened. 2 Newcastle players are fighting each other on the pitch. Lee Bowyer punch Kieron Dyer. Both gets red card. Not the first time I see player on the same side fighting each other. Last time, Liverpool's Bruce Gobbelar grabbed Steve McNamanan on the neck in the pitch. What a disgrace.

So Whats next? Players bodyslam the referee. Officials and guard came to the rescue and punch the players and separate them. Commisionner came over and slam over. Sounds great to me. Better than WWE.
